What is it about?
Basic Roleplaying is Chaosium’s generic rules engine. It provides tools for characters, worlds and adventures across genres. Its family includes games with their own adaptations, such as Call of Cthulhu, RuneQuest and Stormbringer.

Skills are percentages checked with d100. Individual games select and adapt combat, powers and other subsystems.

Chaosium permits original games and supplements using the licensed material in Basic Roleplaying: Universal Game Engine under ORC, without royalties or additional individual approval.
Conditions
Include the ORC notice and UGE attribution, distinguishing licensed and reserved material. This does not release the settings of Call of Cthulhu or RuneQuest, or their trademarks, illustrations or design.
