What is it about?
Jason Duff’s Heroes & Hardships from Earl of Fife Games supports fantasy, science fiction and other settings. The inspected quickstart preview is an introduction, distinct from the core books covered by the publisher’s negotiated third-party agreement.

At the table
Roll attribute plus skill in d10s, keep the highest dice equal to the attribute and compare their sum with a target or opposed result. Benefits add rolled dice; hardships increase difficulty. Wounds and action durations replace a simple hit-point and round structure.

Conditions
The public terms are informational, not an automatic licence. Negotiate a product agreement and 0–5% gross royalty; obtain approval before releasing settings or adventures in print, PDF or VTT. Standalone rules revisions are excluded. References cover only the Core Rulebook and GM’s Guide Vol. 1. Copying exceptions are limited to specified bestiary stat blocks, weapons/armour entries and ancestry lists without trait definitions. Use the supplied front-cover compatibility logo, prescribed notice within the first three pages, store link and advertising notice; imply no endorsement. AI art is prohibited.
