What is it about?
Legend belongs to the family of percentile-skill games. Its core rules provide a foundation for actions and combat, supported by monster books and other themed material. The publisher’s 2011 announcement designates the core book’s text as open content, separately from unrelated Mongoose game lines.

At the table
Players use percentile skills to resolve their characters’ actions. The referee presents adventures and applies the combat options and abilities included in the selected rulebook.

Mongoose's official announcement presents Legend's rules as open content for other publishers to create their own products. Original modules may be published using that edition's designated OGL content.
Conditions
Include OGL and credits, and check the specific book's notice. Opening the rules does not automatically include illustrations, trademarks or settings from other Mongoose games.
